10 great movies based on real events are popular because they show the depth of the human experience. Not only that, but they become very personal to a lot of people.

As is usually the case with movies based on real events, this tale was a bit exaggerated. But at the same time, it does show a very inspiring tale that centers around one woman and her refusal to back down.
Elvis
To say that Elvis Presley lived an extraordinary life is an understatement. But quite honestly, there are a lot of issues with any story depicting his life.
Hacksaw Ridge
Who in the world goes to war without a weapon in hand? Desmond Doss did it, and somehow, he came back alive, helping many others to do the same.
BlacKkKlansman
How do you infiltrate a white supremacist group without getting caught? You outthink and outmaneuver them. It doesn’t sound like it was that tough, but it was dangerous.
Harriett

While it’s more of a dramatization of the real story of Henry Hill and Jimmy Burke, this movie was still rather good. It left some things out and rushed a few other scenes, but it was still entertaining.
The Social Network
This movie doesn’t exactly put Mark Zuckerberg in a good light. But then again, half of what Zuckerberg does on his own doesn’t do that.

Into the Wild
It’s tough to think that anyone would take a trip like this and believe that they would come out okay. The main character did end up dying, but one has to wonder if he had any inkling that such a thing would happen.
