10 Hulk Transformations That Go Beyond Green

Did you know Bruce Banner is not the only Hulk to be created? Stan Lee and Jack Kirby conceptualized the Hulk in 1962, bringing to life one of Marvel’s most powerful icons. Over the years, his transformations have gone beyond a single shade, each color unlocking abilities never seen before. Some of these transformations defy even the laws of gamma radiation! Just how many Hulks exist? Let’s find out.
Green Hulk

Gamma accidents don’t get bigger than this! First appearing in “The Incredible Hulk #1” (1962), Green Hulk is the classic embodiment of rage-fueled power. He has shattered planets and held up a mountain range in “Secret Wars.” Did you know he outmatched gods? His strength is limitless, just like his temper.
Grey Hulk

Marvel loves a twist, and Grey Hulk was the first version of the character before a printing issue changed him to green. The new Grey, unlike his stronger counterpart, prefers wits over brute force. He rebranded himself as Joe Fixit, a Vegas enforcer who gambles as much as he smashes.
Purple Hulk

In “Avengers #24” (2012), Norman Osborn utilized Super Adaptoid technology and acquired the abilities of various Avengers, including his titan-like strength, which made him a formidable adversary. During his rampage, he nearly overpowered the Avengers before being stopped by Iron Man’s specialized anti-gamma weaponry.
Red She-Hulk

Betty Ross just couldn’t stay out of the gamma game. In “Hulk #15” (2008), she was transformed into Red She-Hulk, gaining a deadly new power that drained gamma energy from others. Unlike the classic green, Betty’s form leans towards aggression, an unpredictable wildcard in Marvel’s powerhouse lineup.
Blue Hulk

Aliens love meddling with the Hulk, and the Kree took it to the next level. The “Cosmic Hulk,” a Kree-built android, was designed to take down Earth’s strongest heroes. Blue Hulk’s existence proves that even across galaxies, the legend of his strength has raised interest far beyond just Earth’s worries.
Black Hulk

The term “Black Hulk” has been used for multiple characters in Marvel’s multiverse. In the “Ultimate Universe,” scientist Leonard Williams became the first Hulk, later renaming himself Tyrone Cash and turning to crime. In other storylines, Bruce Banner has taken on sinister dark forms, such as “Kluh,” an intelligent and malevolent version of Hulk.
White Hulk

No gamma, no problem. White Hulk isn’t fueled by radiation but by mystical and infernal forces. Some versions of this appear in Marvel’s “Ultimate Universe,” while others channel supernatural forces beyond gamma mutations. Imagine one that punches through reality itself—this one takes power to dimensions unseen.
Orange Hulk

In “Uncanny X-Force #12” (2011), the Age of Apocalypse universe introduces the Orange Hulk, also known as the Solar Hulk. He is charged up through solar radiation, making him stronger during the day. He was a member of the Black Legion, a group of monstrous warriors assembled by Weapon Omega.
Silver Hulk

Silver Surfer isn’t the only one who got a cosmic glow-up. In a “What If?” animated anthology episode, he is reimagined as a Herald of Galactus, and he is transformed into Silver Hulk. This gave him all the powers of the Power Cosmic, a planet-smashing, space-bending force of nature. Hulk as a space menace? Yes, please!
Yellow Hulk

Fear changes people, and in “Marvel Action: Avengers #9–10”, it turned Bruce Banner into the Yellow Hulk. Manipulated by A.I.M., he became a nightmare-fueled monster. Unlike his rage-driven self, this version intensified on fear, proving that terror might be an even stronger motivator than anger.
