Casting Ideas for The Game Soulcalibur

It’s fun to think up casting ideas for the popular game Soulcalibur, especially since several actors come to mind. The fantasy fighting game is one of those that could become another terrific tale with the right actors.
Voldo-Doug Jones
Given that this character performs many crazy and impractical movements, Doug Jones is one of the only people fit for the role. Add to that the fact that Voldo never speaks, and it’s perfect casting.
Ivy Valentine-Charlize Theron
There’s something about Charlize that’s regal and cruel when she takes on the proper role. She has the type of attitude that could make this role work very well.
Kilik-Iko Uwais
Many young men could likely take on the role of the staff-wielding warrior. But Iko is dynamic and ferocious enough to embody this character.
Xianghua-Jamie Chung
Perhaps other young ladies could take on this part and make it work. But something about Jamie makes it evident that she’s a great choice. Maybe she can look so innocent and yet so deadly at the same time.
Maxi-Henry Golding
This role requires the arrogance and self-assurance the character is known for. After watching Henry perform in a few movies, it’s easy to see that he could bring a great deal of realism to the character.
Cervantes-Javier Bardem
After watching him in No Country for Old Men, Javier is plentiful enough to be cruel and uncaring to take on this role. The only added thing he would need for Cervantes is a vicious demeanor to round it out.
Rock-Hafpor Julius Bjornsson
Rock is one of the most prominent characters in the game. Bjornsson was perfect for The Mountain in GoT and would be just as ideal for this role.
Astaroth-Dwayne Johnson
While he’s not quite as big as Bjornsson, Dwayne Johnson has the needed physique for the character of Astaroth. Also, since he played the villain in Doom, it’s established that he can play a vicious character.
Lizardman-Dave Bautista
This is more of a guess since Lizardman is one member of a larger race seen in this game’s storyboards. But Dave could easily don the look and make it work.
Mitsurugi-Andrew Koji
Many would likely recommend someone else, but keeping Mitsurugi a little younger in this movie would be ideal. Andrew Koji had proven himself in various roles and could easily handle this character.
Nightmare-Aaron Taylor-Johnson
In this game, the character is an extension of the nightmare sword known as Souledge, and he’s little more than hatred and violence given form. After watching him in Bullet Train, I realized that this role could go to Johnson without fail.
Seigfried-Alexander Ludwig
Watch him in Vikings, and you’ll see why it’s evident that he could pull off the role of a strong individual who is a little disturbed. Not only that, but his serious mien is enough to make him a shoo-in for this part.
Taki-Zhang Ziyi
This role requires someone who knows how to fight on-screen and is at least somewhat recognizable. Her roles in other martial arts films make her a wise choice.
Sophitia-Hayden Panettiere
It’s hard to say if she would take this role since she hasn’t been seen much in recent years. But Hayden would still be perfect to personify the god-sent warrior who eventually has a big part to play at the end.
Hwang-Simu Liu
His ability to take on the role of Shang-Chi makes this role easy to fill. Of course, he’d have to put on a more serious demeanor since Hwang is an earnest patriot with no sense of humor.
Yoshimitsu-Donnie Yen
It’s true that Donnie Yen is a lot better in person than behind a mask, but he could fit this role. Considering his legendary status among movie stars, it’s easy to guess that he could make this role stand out in a big way if the licensing rights were settled.
Seong Mi-Na-Liu Yifei
As a personal favorite, this character could be taken on by a lot of different women with a talent for martial arts and the spirited nature the character has. Of course, it would be nice to see Liu add her own sense of style to the role.
