10 Great Movies That Deal With The Occult

There are more than 10 great movies that deal with the occult. Unfortunately, some of them don’t get a lot of praise.
The Exorcist
This movie is the gold standard regarding the occult, possession, and the definite creepy factor. Even decades after its release, The Exorcist is still the movie people reference when terrified.
Oculus
It’s a fair bet that many people don’t even know about this movie. But the general idea is that a possessed mirror becomes the obsession of a young woman who loses her family to its evil. It’s a compelling tale, but the movie could have been better.
Evil Dead II
What do you do when you find a book that summons demons? Of course, you read from it, right? Despite being a sequel, this movie kicked off the legend of Ashe (Bruce Campbell) in a way the first movie never could.
Constantine
Say what you want about this movie, but Keanu Reeves did a pretty good job. The character’s treatment of the occult references and items like a toolbox was amusing and satisfying.
Sinister
It might take some folks a little bit to get into this movie, but they’ll be creeped out and entertained at the same time. Once the main point of the story hits home, people will be entranced and want to see more.
The Witch
Maybe it’s the setting, the time period, or something else, but it takes a little effort to get into this movie. But, once you do, it becomes terrifying and even more fascinating.
The Omen
This movie is almost like being hit over the head with the idea that Damien is the antichrist, and there are no two ways about it. You will be terrified, this movie insists, or you’ll miss the main point of what’s going on.
The Craft
This answers the question of what happens when you give a group of young women with their own emotional issues the type of power that can help them achieve their immature dreams. In other words, it’s like giving a child a wishing machine without teaching them how to use it.
Lord of Illusions
Dark is an excellent way to describe this movie since, despite being fairly campy, the main point is disturbing as hell. Plus, it does manage to put the ‘cult’ in the occult in an alarming way.
Jennifer’s Body
Almost every movie Megan Fox is in uses her stunning physique, but this movie takes things to a very different level. Imagine being a young man, thinking you’re going to get lucky, and next thing you know, Jennifer is snacking on your liver.
