10 Things People Don’t Know About Wolverine

There are at least 10 things people don’t know about Wolverine, especially since his current legend has been built differently. But here are a few things you might want to know.
He first appeared in The Incredible Hulk
Wolverine didn’t even start with his own comic. He was sent in to break up a fight between Hulk and a villain named Wendigo.
Getting drunk is nearly impossible
Thanks to his healing factor, he can’t get drunk like others. Since his natural healing rapidly expels all sorts of poison and other harmful toxins from his body, Wolverine can catch a buzz if he consumes mass quantities of alcohol all at once, but otherwise, he’s unfazed.
His healing factor has kept him young
His accelerated healing prevents him from dying or suffering debilitating injuries. It also prevents him from aging at the same rate as others, making him one of the oldest Marvel characters.
The relationship he has with Sabretooth has been retconned
It was believed at one time that Sabretooth was his brother, then his father, and then unrelated. At this point, it’s tough to know just what kind of relationship these two share since it’s been ripped up and redone a time or two.
He’s been a part of a lot of different Marvel teams
Trying to list them all would take a while, but Wolverine has been a part of different X-Men teams and the Avengers. Seeing as he’s been around longer than most of those who have graced Marvel’s roster, it’s not hard to believe that he’s allied himself with many different groups.
Logan is not a great father
This goes without saying since it’s tough to think about, but there are times when he didn’t even realize he had kids in the world. It’s fair to say that X-23 is his clone, so he had no idea, but Daken took his absentee status personally.
Hugh Jackman wasn’t the first choice for the character
This isn’t that much of a secret. Hugh Jackman stands over six feet tall, while Logan is well under the six-foot mark. But Jackman did such a great job that people stopped caring about the difference.
He does know how to fight in many different ways
Logan’s been alive long enough to have picked up multiple fighting styles, but he rarely showcases them. There’s even a comic that shows him besting Iron Fist in a sparring match.
He’s a weapons master
He might not be as adept as a few others, but Wolverine knows how to handle a sword, among other weapons. With such a long lifespan, it’s not tough to see how this would happen.
In the comics, his claws weren’t attached at first
When he first set foot in the pages of Marvel, his claws were a part of his uniform, not a part of his anatomy. As his popularity started to grow however his character was retconned and he became more than just a government agent.
