10 Video Game Movies That Flopped

There are way more than 10 video game movies that flopped. But some of them hit the ground and tripped hard.
Resident Evil
The first movie was pretty cool, but the game’s dedicated fans saw many errors they didn’t care for. It didn’t get any better with the sequels that kept rolling out.
Double Dragon
Many people in their 30s and 40s remember how much fun this game was. But something was lost when it was translated to cinema.
Max Payne
It was tough to understand what was going on in this movie. Fans of the game probably divined the purpose very easily, but otherwise, it was incredibly botched.
House of the Dead
Undoubtedly, this was better off as a video game, and that’s it. Sometimes, bringing a game to the big or small screen is a huge gamble.
BloodRayne
In all honesty, this was for young adolescent boys who found the titular character hot and wanted to keep attacking people in the game so they could hear the sound effects. When it came to the movie, it fell flat in a big way.
Doom
One would think that having Dwayne Johnson and Karl Urban on the cast would make a big difference. But despite their decent acting, it was still a joke to those who had remained loyal to the game for so long.
WarCraft
Given the expanse of this game and the world-building that has already been done, it would easily be assumed that the movie would take advantage of that. Yeah, not really, because it was a huge flop.
Far Cry
Did anyone get the hype from this movie? No? It’s probably because it wasn’t there.
Super Mario Bros.
The live-action movie with Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo wasn’t that great since it didn’t follow many of the game’s main points. But to this day, Leguizamo thinks it’s still one of the best versions ever made.
Street Fighter
There were several up-and-coming actors in this movie who should have made it great. But even with Raul Julia and Jean Claude Van Damme, it was just painful to watch.
