10 Best Football Movies

Many people might have an opinion on how to pick the 10 best football movies. But the truth is, they’re all great in their own way.
Little Giants
Rick Moranis and Ed O’Neill did a great job in this movie about two rival teams trying to represent their town. Of course, a rivalry between brothers was bound to produce a fun story.
Varsity Blues
You don’t question the sanctity of football in Texas, or at least you don’t in this movie. The funny thing is that there are towns where the antics in this movie are very real.
The Longest Yard
The original and the remake with Adam Sandler were both highly amusing. But the remake managed to rope in an impressive cast of musicians, wrestlers, former athletes, and personalities that made the movie a lot of fun.
Any Given Sunday
I can see Al Pacino on the sidelines yelling at his players, can’t you? Plus, the speech he gives before the final game is one of the most iconic in the history of sports movies.
The Program
This movie does feel like a running commentary on the pitfalls of college football, but it is a little eye-opening. It’s not entirely realistic, but it is a fun film.
Remember the Titans
The real story behind this movie and several of the individuals were different. However, the inspiration that many people got from this story is great enough that it stands out as a great film.
The Blind Side
Although Michael Oher’s story wasn’t one hundred percent represented, many people didn’t care. Sandra Bullock came off as a great personality in this movie and helped make it enjoyable.
Rudy
Any movie based on a real story is going to omit a lot of things, and this is just another one. But Rudy was a huge story at Notre Dame once, and it’s been inspiring ever since it was released.
Invincible
The Eagles haven’t always had a good time in the NFL, and this movie makes that clear. But one of the greatest moments in their history was caught in a way that helped Disney create yet another touching film.
Draft Day
So, honestly, there’s not as much football playing in this movie, but it does go behind the scenes during the draft, which is interesting. Just imagine how busy a back office can get during the buildup to this day.
