10 Great Cartoons from 80s

There are so many great cartoons from the past few decades that picking out just ten is tough. However, the 10 great cartoons from the 80s are typically action-packed and were bound to become a movie or be nearly forgotten.
G.I. Joe

The all-American hero squad was one of the best of the decade, even though it had to be kid-friendly. Plus, the lessons taught at the end of several episodes were interesting. After all, knowing is half the battle.
The Transformers

Looking back on it now, I see that the animation from this decade was kind of dodgy. But it was entertaining for kids who didn’t care about the level of animation since the story was engaging enough to get into.
He-Man and The Masters of the Universe

People in their 40s and even 30s can probably remember having the toys that came from this show. While it ended up becoming a movie starring Dolph Lundgren, the animated show has remained superior.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

It’s amusing how the popularity of this quartet didn’t wane until the most recent movies when they were brought to life once again. The initial live-action movie was well-received, even with practical effects taking charge.
The Real Ghostbusters

The animated show was well-received because it delivered what the movie couldn’t without becoming a series. Following the four Ghostbusters and Slimer on multiple adventures was fun and sold a lot of merchandise.
The Simpsons

Indeed, this hasn’t always been a cartoon for kids, but that’s who it appealed to in a big way, thanks to Bart’s antics and Lisa’s contrasting, goody-goody act. The cartoon is still popular today, but its heyday has come and gone.
Thundercats

Indeed, the development of a movie is still in the works, or at least that’s the word. But back then, this cartoon was fun since it wasn’t complicated, and it didn’t do much other than entertain children with stories of how the Thundercats fought to survive.
Silver Hawks

This is almost like Thundercats in space, save that one of their members is not just a pilot but a guitarist who uses his instrument for more than music. For the time being, it was entertaining, especially since the villains were quite interesting.
Voltron

Finding kids who didn’t know about Voltron in the 1980s was tough since this cartoon predated the Power Rangers, even though it had similar elements. Still, if not for Voltron, the Power Rangers might have been very different.
Inspector Gadget

While it’s not quite the same as the other entries on this list, Inspector Gadget was fun since it created a clueless character despite being highly intelligent. In a way, he was almost like the detective from The Pink Panther, just updated and given a child and dog as his sidekicks.
